Mission statement: 

"Our Sisters Keeper exist to encourage, motivate and inspire women to become role models and leaders in their communities." Founded in Marin City as the primary service area. But we will serve women countywide.

Vision Statement:

We envision a world in which all women regardless of race, ethnicity, income level or social status, are nurtured and empowered to reach their fullest potential " We are committed to the “whole woman.”

Our Sisters Keeper convene and uphold women who have suffered from long-standing racial and economic disparities, those who struggle with depression, social isolation, the challenges of parenting, mental health conditions, housing insecurity, domestic abuse, and any other life struggle that results from social and economic exclusion.

Purpose:

Our Sisters Keeper is a community-rooted nonprofit based in Marin City, California, dedicated to advancing healing, equity, and empowerment for women, youth, and families. We serve communities that have been deeply impacted by racial and economic disparities, intergenerational trauma, systemic inequities, and community violence.

Our cause is to create safe spaces for healing and growth while equipping individuals with the tools they need to thrive. Through initiatives focused on trauma recovery, literacy, leadership development, mentorship, and community-building, we help women and youth reclaim their voices, strengthen their resilience, and chart positive paths forward.

By uplifting the most vulnerable members of our community, Our Sisters Keeper not only addresses immediate needs but also invests in long-term change — ensuring that families are supported, young people have access to opportunity, and women are empowered to lead.

Our Sisters Keeper purpose is ever-expanding to cater to the pressing needs of our community. Our services include:

  • Advocacy/Mentorship: One-on-one coaching mentorship to guide survivors and their families post-healing.

  • Essential Supplies: Provision of food, hygiene products, etc.

  • Information and Referrals: Assisted guidance to essential community and county resources.

  • Programs: Life skills coaching, parent aid & family advocate, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, dental health wellness, sister circle, and adult literacy, book club.
